Post cards have been mailed

Postcards for the Liberate Your Art swap have been mailed.  I thought I would have fun decorating the packaging.  I used the same packaging that the postcards arrived from MOO.com in.  I gessoed the outside and then painted, collaged, stamped and drew.  It is all held together with a little washi tape.  I hope this brightened Kat's day.   So looking forward to receiving my postcards!

My front door - January 2, 2014

I've joined The Documented Life Project.  I'm going to attempt to document 2014 as best as I can; knowing there will be weeks where I don't even think about it.   This week's prompt was to interpret our front door.  This is the photo I took.  We are in the midst of a blizzard.- over 15 inches of fluffy snow by the time we are done midday tomorrow.  It was a perfect day to begin my journal: making tabs, adding pages and working on the first prompt.  Photos will come later when I have completed it. I am excited about working along side many amazing, creative folks from all over the world.  Let the journey begin!

This photo just makes me happy

Right now I am grateful for:
  1. My health (which is far from perfect but pretty good none the less)
  2. My children (they are gems on the earth)
  3. My husband (he makes me laugh often)
  4. My dog, Ivy (she loves me unconditionally)
  5. My talents (some are hidden, some are out there)

Gratitude

Grateful Corey's new lungs, a photo by Meredith G. on Flickr.
Almost a month ago my girlfriend's 24 year old son had a double lung transplant. I am grateful for the medical advances that allowed this to happen. I am grateful for the family who donated the lungs, may you find peace and solace in your time of sorrow. I am grateful for my friendships that brought us together from far and wide to support Corey and his mom.  Heal well Corey!!!!  You are an amazing young man who now has so many opportunities ahead of you.
